I’ve been a poet, a temp, a desk jockey, and, many times over, a student. But what pushed me into finally pursuing my passion was the 4 years of being an admin assistant at a small IT shop. Imagine a “people person” stuck in a cubicle inside an office with no one around, and all her coworkers communicating by email, even though they were just across the hall. Yikes!!!
When I got honest with myself about who I wanted to be professionally, the thing that stood out for me is how I can feel other people’s suffering. And I see how they don’t have to.
I found a school that would train me to really be able to sit with people in all their human messiness and help them find their way.
And then I discovered that I’m an energy healer, which is a whole other story, but which means that I now blend clinical and theoretical knowledge with a deeper sense of intuition and connection to Spirit.
I love this work. I love it because it’s not about theory or a prescribed way of being in the world, but because it’s about each of us finding our own most self-loving way.
I love connecting with people in this moment, seeing what’s up for them right now and getting to feel with them how that is. And I love even more the “Ah-HA!” moments when people get what I can see: that their wholeness, their peaceful and compassionate True Self is accessible to them right now.
I love that I can create this transformational moment for people to have that felt experience. It’s like building a muscle-memory; if you can feel what it’s like to do this now, you’ll be able to replicate it more easily in another moment on your own.
My background includes a Masters Degree in Poetry from the University of Florida and a Masters Degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences (meaning I’m trained as a psychotherapist) from the Leadership Institute of Seattle through Bastyr University. I also am continually training in energy psychology techniques, such as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and alternative energy healing, and I am receiving supervision in Internal Family Systems.
On a personal note, I live in Seattle with my husband and dog. I love the infrequent sun and I dance Nia as often as I physically can.
Now you know a little about me. The next move is yours.
